Grand Cayman Islands is a popular destination for tourists. People throng here for spending holidays in a peaceful atmosphere. Due to the heavy rush of tourists, many major international airlines like British Airlines and US Airlines are operating flights to Grand Cayman Islands. There are several cheap domestic flights too. Still it is difficult to get a ticket if you have not booked well in advance. Recently I had been there and it was an official trip. Company bought me cheap plane tickets and they have arranged my accommodation there through one of our clients. Hence I did not have to face much trouble in travelling and in getting accommodation. When I reached there in one of the cheap flights to Grand Cayman Islands, our client was waiting in the airport to receive me and he took me to the hotel booked for me. On the way to the hotel he kept on talking about the islands and various places that has to be visited.

When I started my work the next day, I have also made a plan to visit many places. Seven Miles Beach was my first destination. That is the main tourist attraction of the country and most of its hotels and other important installations are situated around this beach. The lively beach life of Caribbean was seen here also. The beach was crowded and people were really enjoying the cool breeze. They were not sitting idly, but were engaged in different activities like playing funny games and enjoying a bath in the sea. This island is a famous scuba diving location also. This also attracts several tourists here and the introduction of cheap tickets to Grand Cayman Islands has come as a blessing for them.

There were several museums and parks where I spent a bit of time from my busy schedule to know more about this country and its cultural heritage. The next step was to do some shopping. I took the advice of my client in this case also. According to him, many articles may cost less in this island than they cost in the countries where they get manufactured. I went through the busy streets and found shops selling electronic goods to apparels. However, as advised by my client I preferred to purchase Caymanite gifts. This is available only in this island and the Caymanite gifts, statues, jewelry are considered precious world over. With his help I could identify some shops that sell these items.

With the influence of the western culture, this island also became a hot destination for fashion designers. I have seen some wayside vendors who were selling the dresses in the latest fashion. When enquired I came to know that these are the replica of some world famous fashions and these replicas can be affordable by common man also. Thus the island is also known as the fashion maker for the common man.

As I had to return immediately after finishing my work, I feel that I could not enjoy the islands fully. I am planning to visit there once again on a personal trip.

Though I have visited Germany a number of times all those tours were limited to Berlin and I have not seen Germany out of Berlin. Hence when I was assigned for an official duty in Dusseldorf I was quite thrilled. Being an official trip the tickets and other arrangements had to be made by the company. We have people specially assigned for such duties and they will make necessary enquiries about cheap international flights and airline tickets. Many airlines such as Korean Airways, Air China etc are operating flights to this city. Still they have tried to get the cheap tickets to Dusseldorf. And I reached the city on the decided day. Though I went there by one of the cheap flights to Dusseldorf, the facilities offered by them were not bad. Hence the journey was not at all tedious and I did not have to take much rest after reaching there.

    3095103839_2bf998416d
Though not as big as Berlin, this city is also a big international business centre and all the modern facilities are available here also. It resembles Berlin in its active night life with night clubs keep opening past midnight and always filled with music and dance. The young face of Berlin was also visible here. This enthusiasm and the energy may be the symbol of rising Germany.

Along with my official tour I have visited many museums, parks etc too. There were many venues for performing arts which will be filled with audience by evening. Every evening there will be some cultural programs or the other. The life here never stands still. It is always flowing with great energy.

Even the shopping in this city is also a thrilling experience with many shopping malls and shopping centers. Konigsalle is the main shopping center for luxury items and I came to know that many foreigners are coming here for purchasing various items. The introduction of cheap tickets to Dusseldorf has come as a blessing for these types of tourists as they can come more frequently and purchase. Old town is another destination for shopping. Here most of the people are looking for souvenirs and handicrafts. The culture and heritage of Germany is depicted in various handicrafts being sold here. Hitsville, a store in this old town is famous for selling used CDs. You will get the used CDs of hit albums and other songs here for a better price. This shop has become a favorite of many music lovers and many foreigners are also visiting this shop forn their favorite music. Dusseldorf is also known as the fashion capital of Germany and there are many shops in the city that sells latest fashion apparels and other accessories. Thus shopping in this city is an unforgettable experience and many tourists whom I met here in the streets were mentioning the same.

After completing my work I returned to my place. Still the streets of Dusseldorf are in my minds. The busy streets and the shopping activities are still in my mind alive.

California-here I come with lots of dreams as ripe as Californian plum. This is what I thought as I joyously booked my tickets at the best fares to America’s darling golden state. Before my tour of California, I reviewed the travel tips my friend gave me.

    California Travel Tips:

    Best time to visit California:

    • I heard that the best times to visit California are during spring and late autumn or fall. This is because the climate is cool then and the places are not crowded.
    • My friend advised me to avoid June- August due to the hot climate and the crowds. Most people on cheap tickets to California come here during April-May
    • It is best to compare  hotel prices as  they are always changing
    • Snacks are offered by hotels at inflated rates. So it is best to pack a pile of snacks from the grocery store before hitting the theme parks.

    California Transport Tips:
California has a very convenient Public Transport System in spite of being the third largest state in the US. California has nearly 14 airports where cheap flights to California land in.

    • I heard that airport cabs are cheap but the fare works out be the same after paying the airport fee.
    • Instead, my friend asked me to pre-book the cab or car (from the airport to the city) along with tickets for flights to California.
    • Going around California can be by car, bus, train or motor homes.
    • To rent a car in California, I needed my passport, international driving license and a credit card. Car fares range from $35- 45 per day.  Driving in California requires hands-free, no-mobile operation.
    • Cruise America and El Monte RV offer motor home rentals.
    • The cheapest way to our California is by boarding a Greyhound Bus. Buses are faster, cheaper and more frequent.
    • The Amtrak operates long distance routes while the Cal train, Metro link and Coaster operate intra-city routes along Bay area, Los Angeles and San Diego.

    Tips to stay in California:
California is a wide state with several hot spots like San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles etc. So there is no dearth of hotels, B & B inns, resorts or villas for accommodation here.

Some of the plush and famous hotels I heard of were San Jose’s Sainte Claire Hotel, Napa Valley’s Bardesono Hotel, Cavalio Point Lodge and Hotel Presidio in San Francisco and Little castle in Berkeley.

    California’ scenic attractions:
California had a never-ending list of attractions for me to visit like

    • Golden Gate Bridge , Alcatraz, China town  in San Francisco
    • Hollywood ,Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive& Malibu Beaches in Los Angeles
    • Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Old town in San Diego
    • Spas and Resorts in Palm Springs
    • Disney land in Anaheim
    • Yosemite National Park
    • Rail Road and Automobile Museum, River Walk, Folsom Zoo and Old city in Sacramento.
    • The American Riviera n Santa Barbara

Health & Safety Tips for California travel:

My friend had given me these health and safety tips for my California visit which were really handy.

    • Smoking is prohibited in all public buildings, restaurants, bars and casinos
    • Seatbelt is a must while driving and a helmet for motor cyclists
    • Avoid traveling in unofficial trails
    • Avoid hitchhikers and hitchhiking
    • Avoid camping in border areas
    • In case any tourist has a pulmonary poor breathing problem, it is best to take physician’s advice before travel as California has an air stagnation peril.
    • Pack lightweight wear with swimsuits for summer and slightly heavier one s for winter

California left me with an earnest desire to visit this city again. So here I am off to booking the international airlines tickets for my next Californian holiday. Hope to meet you there.

The capital of Belgium and the headquarters of the European Union – Brussels was the place for my youth-exchange program. My university had booked me cheap plane tickets and reserved me some hostel lodging. So I boarded my flight with great anticipation to see this city which is flocked by students like me who are on cheap tickets to Brussels. We students have to pay attention to some tips on traveling in foreign countries like Brussels as we are most often on a shoe string budget.

    Brussels Travel tips

Brussels is a bilingual nation with 80% French and 20% Flemish

    • Knowing French is a blessing in Brussels as it is the lingua Franca. Though English may be understood, I heard that it is not widely spoken. German is also spoken but only in the Germanic region of Belgium.
    • Best time to visit Brussels is from May-October.

    Brussels Immigration Precautions:

    • The Brussels Customs officials asked me to declare any prescription medicines and hypothermic needles.
    • Even plants, fruits, meats, soil, live animals, bird and farm products are to be avoided.
    • Visitors have to carry a filled up customs declaration form while passing through immigration.
    • Smoking is prohibited in the airport and public places.

I was lucky that my travel agent who booked my cheap flights to Brussels had warned me beforehand of all this.

    Brussels Hotel Stay tips:
I heard that hotel costs are not so exorbitant like airline prices. There are plush hotels like Sofitel, Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza hotel. Hotel like Best Western or Hotel des Colonies or Hotel Noga are affordable.

    • Tipping is no compulsory but appreciated I hotels and eateries.

    From the Airport:
Alighting at the airport from my Flights to Brussels, I found both buses and taxis available.

    • I thought it wise to catch a licensed taxi by going to the rank and avoid saw drivers in the Baggage area.
    • The Bus terminal is located directly below the arrival Hall. I heard that the Airport Express train also has a regular service to 3 stations- Gare Centrale, Gare du Nord and Gare du Midi.
    • Rent- a –cars are also available at the Arrival area form Hertz, Europcar, National, Budget etc.

    Getting around Brussels:
I found Brussels easy to get around with its integrated Public Transport System comprising of buses, trams and Metro rails.

    • Metro Tickets can be purchased at the station or at news stalls.
    • Metro stations have a blue sign with white M.
    • Buses stops are marked in white and Tram stops in red.
    • Official Autolux taxis are best to avoid being swindled.
    • It is best to buy a Brussels card.
    • The Brussels card is a chip card that gives free Brussels STIB Public Transport System, a free visit to the museums, a drink at the restaurant Chez Leon etc.
    • Avoid late night tours or travel in a group.

    Brussels sight-seeing Tips:
I visited the Grand Pace, The Atomium, the church of Notre Dame de Bon Secours, the famous statuette of Manneken Pis, the Brussels Royal place, Mini-Europe, Warandepark etc.

Brussels is indeed a cosmopolitan city with many tourist vistas. Check out these travel tips like me before heading to this Belgian city.

It did not take much time for us to decide on the destination for our holiday trip. My wife who always loved the Latin American culture was firm on going to that region. With our children who want to enjoy the modern facilities and western culture were adamant on their demand. However it was easy for me to locate a place which has both. Buenos Aires, which is also called as the Paris of South America has both. Here we can enjoy a perfect blend of Latin American culture and Western Culture.

Once decided the destination the next step was to search for cheap flights. I have approached almost all airlines and travel agents who are selling tickets of various air flights.

When we reached at the airport, it was very busy. The city is attracting a large number of visitors every year and that is why almost all air lines are operating flights to Buenos Aires. Though the city is crowded, it has enough infrastructure facilities to accommodate any number of visitors. Even the traffic was flowing smoothly and it took not more than half an hour for us to reach our hotel in a taxi.

The city houses numerous museums and these museums display a real picture of the history of the city, culture and fine arts. Though we have visited most of them the real surprise came at Teatro Colon. It is an opera theatre of world class and we went there for a show. More than the show, the theatre attracted us with its unique architecture and facilities provided to the audiences. There are several other venues for performing arts in the city. Music is a craze of the denizens and almost every day there will be a musical event at any of these places. There are many renowned orchestras here and we had a chance to enjoy two or three such shows. Just like music, reading is also another passion here. This fact has been proved with the existence of a large number of book shops in busy business areas.

    Night-buenos_aires
Besides, the yearly international book festival was going on when we visited there.  We have seen a large number of crowds there. The most surprising fact was that there were many foreigners too among them. Later we came to know that many people are visiting this city during this book festival and many airlines are operating special cheap flights to Buenos Aires during this season.

To the true sense of its nick name, Buenos Aires hosts a number of fashion shows too. Models and fashion designers from all over the world come here to participate in these shows. These shows also attract a large number of viewers and this is another occasion when the airlines offer cheap tickets to Buenos Aires. My wife was so happy that we could see two such fashion shows and could able to photograph some models.

The botanical garden and various other parks really created heaven for our children as they could enjoy various games and recreational activities there when we shared our thoughts enjoying the nature.

There is a wide spread rumor that the world is going to end by 2012. The centre of this rumor lies in the Mayan Astrology which prevailed in the Mesoamerican region centuries back. The Maya civilization is considered the most developed on among various Mesoamerican civilizations and only the Mayans had a fully developed written language on those times. The culture was prevailing in Mexico till the Europeans conquered the land. I had to collect almost all available information as my trip was a study tour. We have planned visiting this city log back and started our efforts to get tickets in cheap flights. We have approached a number of agencies who are dealing in airline tickets and did a good bargain to get cheap tickets to Mexico.

Though the main centre resembles any other major cities in the world with sky scrapers and crowded shopping centers, the interior area of Mexico has a different face. Our interest was in those places and we came to know that most of the tourists coming to Mexico are coming to those historic sites. To cater to the needs of increasing number of tourists almost all major airlines in that area are operating flights to Mexico.

The first day we have visited the historic Chichen-Itza which has been listed as one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World. Pyramid of Sun and the Pyramid of Moon were the other main attractions of the Mesoamerican era. As told earlier, most of the tourists are visiting this city to experience the Mesoamerican atmosphere which is still prevailing in these sites. Even the Mesoamerican cuisines will take you centuries back with its traditional taste and aroma. The same feeling we will get in other sites like Pyramids of Teotihuacan also.

As I mentioned earlier the purpose of our tour was to study these historic sites and in between we had a chance to enjoy the modern face of Mexico too. The national palace which houses the office of the president really stands as a symbol of Mexico’s pride. The long walk through the Santa Lucia River Walk was a thrilling experience. We went there in an evening. The reflection of the setting sunrays on the tides was a beautiful scene and many of us took photographs of the same from different angles. There are a lot to enjoy for a nature lover in Mexico.

After finishing our site seeing trip we again concentrated in our studies. AS a part of it we visited the National museum of Mexican History and Museum of Contemporary arts. The visit was a good experience and we could learn the changes that have occurred in the culture and art forms of Mexico during its centuries old existence.

The beauty, hospitality and the rich cultural heritage are the plus points Mexico has over other tourist places. After the introduction of cheap flights to Mexico city the number of tourists has increased. When our flight took off from the airport, we all had the same feeling as if we were saying good bye to an era and not to a city.

The city that has been developed by the side of River Moskva has come to known as Moscow. This is not a part of any fairy tale. It is the history of the largest city of
Russia. And the name Moscow mentioned for the first time in 1147. I learned a lot about Moscow as it was the city that fascinated me when I was a student. The inspiring stories of red volunteers and the red army marching through the streets of Moscow was a favorite one on those days. However the dream of visiting Moscow has been realized recently when I had to go there on an official mission on behalf of my company.

My company made arrangements for the plane tickets and I have done the necessary documentation. As decided, I flew on one of the cheap flights to Moscow from our city airport. The facilities provided by the airline company was limited as the ticket was of cheaper cost and the same has been mentioned on the ticket airline have issued. Still the journey was pleasant and I reached safely.

As I reached Moscow, I was quite surprised to see a different world. I could not make out the streets where the red army had marched once. It looks like any other developed city in the west and the face of capitalism was clearly visible. The roads are crowded and the shopping malls were filled with foreigners. After the cold war, many westerners prefer Moscow as a destination for their holidays and seeing a good business opportunity almost all major airlines are operating flights to Moscow. Walking through the crowded street I reached Red Square which was once the most important place of meetings. The importance of this square has been diminished after the fall of the Communist Russia. It was my first day in the city and after spending sometime there with my lost dreams I went back to my room.

The next few days I was busy with business meetings, surveys and interviews and I could not spend much time on sightseeing. The few places I have visited on those days include the Cathedral of Christ the savior, which has been demolished during the communist period and reconstructed in 1900. The structure seems to challenging the ideology of the dialectical materialism and displays the fact that the spiritualism has the answer to all the problems of human beings.

Once the initial meetings are over, I had a bit of relief and got enough time to spend for sightseeing also. I went to the Sparrow hills. The view of Moscow city along with that of Moskva River from this place is really beautiful. I have seen a lot of foreigners there too. After the introduction of cheap tickets to Moscow, the number of foreigners has increased who are visiting this city. Thus tourism also became a part of the economy. While returning from Moscow, I was a bit sad. I could not see much of Moscow. Hence I have decided to visit this city once again.
